Young Writers, Blogging Mistakes, and other Face-palming Things

*Deep breath* Concising what I could take up three posts with into three sentences:
Reading WallpaperClassic New Blogger Mistakes (which I too am guilty of): Giving writing advice, 'cause everyone does the same thing, and following twice as many people that follow you. (Who has that time?)
  •  addition: putting your text in courier is another turnoff. Yes, I have seen this. Yellow font on white. Courier font. I had to highlight the text to read it, and even then it was a pain.
Young writers are not automatically wonderful or evil because of youth- regardless of your age, it's the time you put into the craft, (reading, writing, and dreaming) that gets you published.
  • another addition (sorry!): being older does give people an edge as a writer simply because of the time aspect. Just like money. :( Think about how much a $2,000 Borders gift card could help out... ;D
Every writer tells young writers to write, some tell them to read, but the dream is the most important part.

animated book redTopic of the week: A character always says the opposite of what they mean. Now they've learned how to say the opposite so it comes out right, but every so often they slip...

-gives writing advice-
Ahem. Guilty. Ish. Mine is just rambles about characters and junk.
--bad fonts--
Probably. Sigh.
--edge for age--
Dude, in eight years, I've improved drastically. Just imagine what another eight would do. OF course age helps. I don't get why people blatantly deny it.
--dream--
YAY!!!

Your font is fine, Samm. ;D
And I know what you mean by improving drastically in a seemingly short time. My timeframe was 4 years, (middle school) but everyone assumes I won't be good enough until I'm 25 or something.

Heh, then I tell them I have 3 partials out.

Hey thanks for all your comments, heehee. Brightened my day!

And I don't know why I don't have more comments. It's just really new. I need to promote, *sigh*

Love your idea for the perfect dress, and don't worry about not using excel, I have sticky notes too.

But of course, I would give all my incredible excel skills for half of your cover-making skills!

OK, did not get your restaurant reference, you mean I should try that with my blog? Heh.

And about the volcano, I only see what you see in the news, Reykjavík, where I live, is 75 miles away from the volcano. I just feel really bad for the animals that are left outside in the ash fall =( poor things, my heart shatters thinking about them. But by late Monday evening, the wind might shift so that the ash will come over here. I'm just keeping my windows closed and preparing myself for a lot of pee and poo cleaning after the dogs since I'm not letting them out there! Maybe I should just potty train them... ;)
